MARCH 18, 2014
The special meeting of the Stanley County Commission was called to order at 5:06 p.m. (CDT) by Chairman Scott with Commissioners Dennis Booth, Scott Deal and Dana Iversen present. Ronnie Heckenlaible was in attendance by telephone. Auditor Karen Sharp, Brenton Crane, Ronna Keeney and Darby Nutter were also in attendance. The meeting began with the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.
AGENDA: Motion by Booth, second by Iversen, to approve the Agenda. Roll call vote: Booth—Yea, Deal—Yea, Heckenlaible—Yea, Iversen—Yea, Scott—Yea. Motion Carried.
MINUTES: Motion by Booth, second by Iversen, to approve the Minutes of March 4, March 7 and March 14, 2014. Roll call vote: Booth—Yea, Deal—Yea, Heckenlaible—Yea, Iversen—Yea, Scott—Yea. Motion Carried.
Motion by Iversen, second by Scott to recess into Executive Session for Personnel, SDCL 1-25-2(1) at 5:27 p.m. (CDT). Roll call vote: Booth—Yea, Deal—Yea, Heckenlaible—Yea, Iversen—Yea, Scott—Yea. Motion Carried.
Motion by Deal, second by Booth, to reconvene at 8:08 p.m. (CDT). Roll call vote: Booth—Yea, Deal—Yea, Heckenlaible—Yea, Iversen—Yea, Scott—Yea. Motion Carried.
Motion by Deal, second by Heckenlaible, to offer the Fairgrounds Manager/Maintenance position to Brenton Crane at a salary of $35,000.00 per year, plus the following commissions, to-wit: Percentage of Net Profit for New Events: $1,000 of less – 50%; $1,001 to $2,000 – 40%; $2,001 to $3,000 --- 30%; $3,001 to $4,000 or more – 25%; Stalling net proceeds 50%; Advertising 10% of net. The position will have a one-year probation period with a review at the end of one year. Position will start on Friday, April 4, 2014.
