New Office Schedule for the 2017 Year

The 4-H Extension Office is announcing new office hours effective January 1, 2017.

The new hours will be:

  Monday: 8 am to 3 pm

  Tuesday: 8 am to 2 pm

  Wednesday: 8 am to 2 pm

The office will be open during the noon hour on these days.

 

The Extension Office will be closed on Tuesday, March 14 and Wednesday, March 15 due to personal reasons.  Thank you.

SD 4-H Finals Rodeo Entry Process

To be eligible to participate in any regional SD 4-H Rodeo, 4-Hers must complete the following steps by Monday, May 1, 2017:

  1. Enroll as a SD 4-H member in 4HOnline (this is mandatory)
  2. After enrolling, be sure to enroll in the rodeo project are in 4HOnline
  3. Complete all required SD 4-H Rodeo paperwork in the Rodeo Contestant Packet (which is listed below) and submit as follows on/before Monday, May 1, 2017 to Heather Shoultz, SD 4-H Finals Rodeo Secretary, her mailing address is on the official rodeo entry form.

2017 SD 4-H Regional & State Finals Rodeo Official Entry Form

  Parents or Guardians Agreement of Waiver of Liability Indemnification & Medical Release

  Stanley County Fairgrounds Waiver & Release Agreement

  Insurance Declaration Form 1

 

New Late Entry Process:  SD 4-H Rodeo entries are du by May 1.  An entry that is postmarked prior to May 1, but received after May 1, will be accepted.  Entries postmarked prior to May 1 deadline requiring correction may be corrected up to May 20 for a $5.00 reprocessing fee.  These corrections must be received by the secretary before the contestant will be eligible to rodeo.  Entries postmarked after May 1 thru June 1 will be assessed a $150.00 late fee to be submitted with the late entry.  The contestant will not be eligible to rodeo until the secretary has received the entry.  NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER JUNE 1.

This conference will be held Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Winner High School, Winner, SD.  Registration is from

What is 4-H?

  

4-H is a volunteer led program that provides opportunities to all rural and urban youth between the ages of 8-18 to participate in innovative, “learn by doing” fun programs through which they can develop valuable, lifelong skills.

 

4-H is one of the largest youth development programs in the United States, involving 6 million youth, 60 million Alumni, 600,000 youth and adult volunteers, and 1,000 “learn by doing” programs ranging from robotics and biotechnology to visual arts and agriculture.  4-H is established in every county of every state of the Nation and there are currently 13

4-H clubs in Hughes, Stanley, and Sully Counties.
